‘Im very hairy, and men in film and tv are no longer allowed to be hairy’ Nick Offerman (Hollywood Actor)
It seems that the trend, for male body hair is that ‘less is more’ these days. Having done some research on the subject, there are some areas on the male body that are more acceptable to be hairy than others.
There will always be extremes- some ladies love a hairy chest, others much prefer a smooth finish!
For arms and legs generally speaking a natural pattern of hair growth is acceptable and doesn’t seem to cause concern for either sex. Of course leg hair removal is very common for cyclists and swimmers and waxing is a popular treatment.
However back hair growth for both men and women is largely seen as undesirable.
Waxing is the treatment that most guys will have tried, if they are feeling brave and most will probably not repeat. And shaving is a waste of time, as those pesky hairs are there again the next day as stubble, with saving rash if you’re unlucky.

Which brings us on to the face.- Men’s facial hair changes with fashion. We see lots more for Movember, and probably realise most guys are better without a moustache! However some ladies do like them.
General opinion is that ‘Monobrows’ (one long eyebrow across the forehead) is not attractive. We all communicate with our eyes and a heavy monobrow gives an artificial frown, and makes a face appear less friendly. A simple removal of hairs in the middle and underneath gives a more groomed appearance, which the ladies appreciate.

Treatments available for hair removal
Tweezing/ waxing normally for eyebrows- a very quick and relatively painless treatment.
Makes a huge difference on a monobrow.
Waxing- for all body areas. Hair free for at least 2 weeks, then the hairs start to re-appear. Strip waxing uses a sticky wax removed with a strip. It can be uncomfortable but any reaction disappears within 48 hours, with the correct aftercare.
Intimate male waxing has become popular in recent years, otherwise known as, ‘the back, sack and crack’ or ‘boyzilian’. Grooming and trimming of this area has certainly become desirable, however if you would like the full wax, make sure the therapist is properly qualified to carry out the treatment and uses a non strip wax- much less painful!
Permanent Hair Removal- IPL/VPL Intense Variable pulse light.
An amazing treatment with outstanding results. Any area of the body can be treated providing the hair is dark and skin tone is fair and not suntanned. A course of at least 6 treatments is necessary resulting in a permanent reduction of hair growth.

There is a video of the treatment on my website http://www.queenbeeinthewoods.co.uk
A consultation is necessary before any treatment.
So guys, if you do decide that the hair is getting on your nerves or your other half is nagging you to get rid of it for the summer, book a consultation with me and I can sort it out for you. The best time to start treatment is in the winter months when the skin is its natural colour.
